Image Consulting and Personal Styling Firm, Global Image Group, Has Seen an Influx of Miami Men Desiring to Improve Their Fashion Game as David Beckham Brings Major League Style Back to the Flip Flop Filled Sidewalks of Miami Beach

david-beckham-getting-closer-to-bringing-mls-team-to-miami__oPtMiami – February 25, 2014 ~ David Beckham is bringing more than soccer to Miami. With his undisputed status as one of the world’s most well dressed athletes, he is also impacting Miami with his effortless style and chic attire. Announced in a press conference earlier this month, David Beckham spread the news that he will be opening a Major League Soccer franchise in the internationally renowned city of Miami. He hopes to recruit some of the world’s best soccer players for his Miami venture. Global Image Group is excited to see the impact his presence in Miami has on the fashion choices of men from Fisher Island to Coconut Grove and the SoBe Boardwalk. Global Image Group’s specialty is in personal styling and personal shopper for clients who desire a Euro-chic look due to our international footprint for styling men worldwide. With this surge in activity, Sterling Personal Styling, a division of Global Image Group’s Sterling Luxury Group, has been occupied during the last week updating the look of Miami men, particularly Miami real estate professionals, who want to elevate their fashion game with designer and high street items from the shops of Bal Harbour to Lincoln Road.

Not only will David Beckham’s presence in Miami inspire men to embrace their metrosexuality, it FBL-USA-MLS-ENG-BECKHAM-MIAMIwill also increase the interest of international high-end consumers, particularly from Asia. The Miami real estate market has recently seen an increase in the amount of Chinese and Asian investors. Typically, investors from Asia seek second home or investment properties in Los Angeles or New York due to easy flight accessibility, but competitive property prices in Miami are spurring investment and growth across the city. Asian investors are not only investing but also bringing their love of consuming international clothing brands, such as Prada, Michael Kors and Tory Burch, along with them. Due to this surge in Asian real estate investors, Miami real estate professionals are feeling the need to dress in a more cosmopolitan manner to relate to these Chinese investors.  Miami already has its fair share of high-end brands but with the boost in international investors, and David Beckham’s new soccer franchise, the city’s international population and visitor base has already seen a surge in the need for Global Image Group’s image consulting, personal styling, and personal shopping services.

How to Make a Strong First Impression for an Interview – Tips for Men and Women

Los Angeles – New York – London (September 3, 2010) – As the saying goes, “You only get one chance to make a great first impression.” So be prepared by reviewing the following tips for men and women.  Interviews can be very stressful for many job-seekers. Remember to showcase your unique abilities and demonstrate that you are a perfect match for the company. Certified Image Consultant Michelle T. Sterling suggests that in order to project your best first impression, you must feel good in your clothing, have a positive outlook, and remember that when in doubt, boring is better. The general guidelines for proper interview attire vary by gender, job industry, and sometimes, season.

The following are some tips for women and men on how to look your best for an interview:

WOMEN

1. How should I dress for an interview in a conservative industry, such as banking, corporate law, and government?

In general, you want to appear as neat and professional as possible and aim to wear a tailored, structured suit. Women should wear a dark colored suit such as charcoal, navy, or black. A good fabric of choice is virgin wool because you can wear it for 2-3 seasons. Skirt suits are for more formal industries. The shirt should be crisp, tailored, and buttoned-down in white or light blue.

2. How should I dress for an interview in the engineering and science industries?
Depending on where you are in the country, you should wear a well-structured jacket and if not, a button-down shirt and slacks. Interview attire tends to be more formal on the East Coast.

3. What are some things that women should not wear to an interview?
Just say no to: fishnet stockings, tight undergarments, midriff tops, strappy sandals, stilettos, bright nail polish, hats, and long finger nails. Peep-toe shoes may be acceptable during summer months. Clothes with polyester, spandex or shiny fabric are not recommended for this occasion. Avoid frilly tops as well. For nails, we suggest subtle colors from the Essie nail polish line.

4. How should I dress for an interview in the retail and service industries?
A general rule of thumb is to look as neat and put together as possible. For the retail and fashion industries, you can dress slightly more fashion forward. In the hotel and service industries you should dress more professional.

5. Should I dress according to the job that I am applying for?
You should dress one level above the position that you are applying for in order to build your credibility. Dressing this way will show that you are taking initiative and that you want to move up in the ranks.

6. What are some guidelines on makeup and grooming?
For positions in the conservative industries, you should aim for a Bobbi Brown Cosmetics minimalist look. Remember that you can define your features while looking natural. For fashion industry interviews, you can be a bit more dramatic with the makeup application.  Piercings are best if they are for your ears; if they are anywhere else on your body we recommend that you remove them for more credibility.

7. What about accessories?
Your shoes should be leather, and closed-toe with a non-chunky heel (no more than 2 inches high).  Jewelry should be simple, tasteful, and small – like pearls. If you are wearing a skirt, pair it with simple hosiery.  Pack your things in a black structured tote bag for functionality as you can carry more in it.

8. How do you exude power and confidence without being too bold?
Women can do this by wearing pinstripes and creating dark/light contrasts within their outfit such as black and white.

9. What if you cannot afford a tailored suit?
For your professional career, it’s best to invest in well-tailored, flattering suit. You can find an affordable Tahari suit at Macy’s.

MEN

1. How should I dress for an interview in a conservative industry, such as banking, corporate law, and government?
Men should wear tailored suits: 2 buttons for a more conservative look and 3 buttons for a modern look. Interview suits are best in navy, charcoal grey or khaki beige (in the summer). Pinstriped suits appear more authoritative and are common in conservative industries. The suit should be paired with a white or light blue buttoned-down shirt. Vests and double-breasted jackets tend to be too formal.  For a more formal and polished look wear cufflinks.

2. How should I dress for an interview in the engineering and science industries?
Men can wear a navy blazer with a white or light blue collared shirt and khaki pants. You can finish this outfit with brown or black leather soled shoes – either lace ups or loafers are fine.  When wearing khakis, we recommend wool gabardine ones to look more professional.

3. How should I dress for an interview in the retail and service industries?
For the service industries, you can wear a bold tie with a birds eye suit.  For retail, you can wear a fashion forward sportcoat, button down shirt layered with a sweater, nice slacks, and coordinating shoes.

4. What are some things that men should NOT wear an interview?
Men should not wear dark colored shirts, big sports watches, or chunky rubber-soled shoes.

5. What are some guidelines on grooming?
Your facial and head hair should be neat and clean-cut. You look more credible if you remove all facial hair.

6. What about accessories?
Your belt and briefcase should match your shoes. Dress socks should match the shoe or the pant color.  No white gym socks please.  To project the most professional image regardless of the industry, men should not wear any earrings or necklaces. You can wear a watch- either metal or leather- strapped. Rings are only suitable for married men.

With these tips, your appearance will be one less thing to worry about. Remember that your clothing is a reflection of you. If you look good, you’ll feel good and others will react accordingly.

Men’s Interview Attire According to Image Consultant Michelle T. Sterling

Fortunately for men the components for looking dressed for success for an interview are rather simple. Select a suit, shirt, tie, belt and shoes, and you’re all set. However it is always important to pay attention to details and make sure that your wardrobe is up-to-date with the proper essentials.

mens-grey-suitEvery workable wardrobe should start with a classic grey and/or navy suit. For someone with a larger rear, choose a jacket with a double vent. For an interview in a conservative industry such as banking, men should wear a well-tailored, two-button suit. For a more modern look, wear a suit with three buttons. Interview suits are best in navy, charcoal grey or khaki beige (in the summer). If you are a lawyer, pair a charcoal suit with a blue crisp shirt (blue is the color of credibility) or a white crisp shirt. Look for a shirt that has texture to it for a slightly more polished look.

Pinstriped suits appear more authoritative and are common in conservative industries. The suit should be paired with a white or light blue buttoned-down shirt. Vests and double-breasted jackets tend to be too formal. To look more polished, it’s best to complete the look with cufflinks.mens-navy-suit

For a job in the engineering or science industries, wear a navy blazer with a white or light blue collared shirt and khaki pants. You can finish this outfit with brown or black leather soled shoes- either lace ups or loafers are fine. For the retail industries, you can wear a bold tie or a bird’s eye suit. For the service industries, a buttoned down sweater and nice slacks will suffice. Khaki gabardine pants are a great slacks alternative to grey or navy dress pants. Avoid wearing sports watches or chunky rubber- soled shoes for your professional look. For credibility, it is best if you wear laced up shoes with leather soles. You can choose shoes with either a cap toe or wing tip.

Your facial and head hair should be neat and clean-cut. With the absence of facial hair, you establish what you want: more credibility. Remember to groom your nails; keep them clean and short. Your belt and briefcase should match your shoes. Dress socks should match the shoe or the pant color. Regardless of the industry, men should not wear any earrings or necklaces. You can wear a watch- either metal or leather- strapped. Unless you are married, we recommend refraining from wearing any other rings other than a wedding band.

With these tips, your appearance will be one less thing to worry about. Remember that your clothing is a reflection of you. If you look good, you will feel good and others will react accordingly.

Men’s Style Tips: The 5 Essential Items to Build Your Dating Wardrobe

Dressing to impress for a date is just as important as dressing appropriately for an interview. After all, the first few dates can often feel like an interview process especially if you are meeting someone online or using a dating service. Therefore Global Image Group’s image consultants and personal shoppers have taken the guess work out of what to wear and how to wear it by identifying the 5 essential items to develop your men’s dating wardrobe.

Men under estimate the power of clothing and the effects it has on women when she sees a well dressed man. Not only will these style tips be effective for your dating first impression, but they will also be effective “chick magnets” when you’re out with the boys. Let your clothing do the work for you. When you’re well dressed, women will notice you and may even take the initiative to talk to you – dramatically reducing the “rejection factor.”

The following are the 5 essentials items for men’s dating attire:

The Tailored BlazerMen’s Style Tip 1: The Tailored Blazer. Investing in a casual sport coat or blazer for evenings out during the week or weekend is a great start. All you need is one or two depending on how social you are. Select a blazer that suits your personal style and is well made in a neutral color like black, navy blue or brown. The Sexy Shirt

Men’s Style Tip 2: The Sexy Shirt. Selecting an interesting shirt with some sort of texture or pattern can often be a good conversation starter. The pattern can be as subtle as a tone-on-tone stripe or go bold with a colorful pinstripe. Patterns are often a reflection of our personality. The subtly confident guy will lean toward a tone-on-tone striped shirt while the outgoing and boisterous sales guy may be drawn to a bold pinstripe.

Men’s Style Tip 3: The Fashion Jeans. Men often times select jeans that do not fit them appropriately. Men’s fashion jeans are not the same as the jeans that you throw on to run errands or lounge in on your sofa. So pay careful attention to fit around your waist, rear end and legs. Hemming your jeans appropriately so that they are not too long or too short can also make a difference in looking taller or shorter.

The Men's LoaferMen’s Style Tip 4: The Sleek Shoes. The first thing noticed when a man walks into a room are his shoes. Invest in at least one cool pair of “going out shoes.” Whether it be a loafer, boot, or lace up in black or brown, select a shoe that looks sleek and modern. Do yourself a favor and avoid rubber soles, square or rounded tip toes to look up-to-date.

Men’s Style Tip 5: The Accessories. Finish off your dating look with a quality leather belt, a wallet in good repair, and a sporty chronograph watch. The details often make a good impression so make your look work for you and create less work for yourself. 55% of the impression you make is based solely on your appearance. So increase the odds of your dating success by 55% percent just by paying attention to the clothing you wear. The Reversible Belt

There is nothing more entertaining for women to giggle about than when they see a guy dressed in work clothes at a bar over the weekend. So unless you just got off a plane from a business trip or left straight from the office for happy hour on a Friday night, leave the suit at home and go for the jeans and button-down shirt look. And if you find you need more help, enlist the help of a personal shopper.

Become the Total Package by Establishing Your Personal Brand Image

Become the Total Package by Establishing Your Personal Brand Image:

Master The 7 Sterling Strategies to Style and Success

By Global Image Group

CNN's Anderson Cooper Projects Executive PresenceWhat is personal brand image? It’s you! Your presence is the total package, including how you dress, groom and communicate, and your image speaks to the world before you even say a word. Your image represents who you are and where you are going. Change your image and change your life!

Deepak Chopra states, “Self-power is permanent because it is based on the knowledge of the Self. It draws people to you, and it also draws things that you want to you. It magnetizes people, situations, and circumstances to support your desires.” The first step in developing your personal brand image starts with identifying your obstacles. Is it your appearance, your inner self-talk, or both? Developing your personal brand image is indeed a self-discovery and improvement process. Whether you need to overcome career, personal, or communication challenges, the solution lies within you and your internal dialogue.

Anderson Cooper, Katie Couric, and Gavin Newsom all have presence and exude their own personal brand image. As successful public figures they magnetically attract those who respect them rather than judge them.

Almost all successful people set goals and timelines to achieve them. We achieve what we plan to achieve. Therefore, people who don’t succeed don’t have precise goals. Life gives us exactly what we expect. It’s a balance between persistence and flexibility, so it’s necessary for us to make clear decisions. Doubt leads straight into failure. If you’ve been procrastinating from doing something, do it now. There is no better time than the present; that’s the power of now! Learning to trust your intuition is an art form. Focusing on the negative can distort your judgment and paralyze your actions. Therefore focus on reasons for success! Good energy comes from a healthy and positive self-image. The better your self-image, the more likely you’ll see your possibilities. Trust your intuition. Thoughts of service, lead to abundance, which leads to success. Remember to focus on growth!

Katie Couric Exemplifies Executive PresenceProactive business professionals today view themselves as if they are incorporated and market their talents accordingly. Just as a solid, viable product will die a slow death without consistent marketing, talented contributors can be ignored, overlooked, or never fully utilized without effective self-promotion.

At work, you are your brand and your look is your logo – it should send a clear message about who you are, what you have to offer, and where you want to go. Your task is to pinpoint the identity you want to have within your working environment and then dress to express it. Decide to put effort into choosing a wardrobe that reflects who you are, and you take control of your career and your life.

You’ve often heard people refer to themselves as the total package. However are they really the total package? When you work with Global Image Group, we take the guesswork out of packaging your presentation. The process first begins with a self-exploration of who you are and where you want to be. You can look the part but if you don’t act the part, you’re not the total package. And conversely, if you act the part and don’t look the part, doors will close before you.San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom Exudes Executive Presence
